Local Walks

There’s a lot to be said for a person who loves the pub, one of our regulars is so committed to the pub that many years ago he created a selection of circular walking routes… guess what. They all begin and end at the pub! Off he goes out of the door “just going for a walk” 6 hours later he returns home!

Burrow Farm Gardens

Known as East Devon’s Secret Garden, Burrow Farm is open from 1st April to the 31st of October These beautifully landscaped gardens, extending to thirteen acres, feature superb views of the surrounding Dalwood, Whether you are a keen gardener or pausing on your journey to the South West, Burrow Farm is a must visit.


Loughwood Meeting House

We are Lucky to have National Trust 17th Century thatched Baptist Loughwood Meeting House, here on our doorstep in Dalwood, the chapel has a fascinating History and only a short walk from its fellow National Trust property Shute Barton


Millers Farm Shop

A firm Favourite with our Visitors and Regulars alike, run by Malcolm Miller and his Family 40 years the shop is an Aladdin’s cave of the most sumptuous food imaginable, featuring produce from many of our own suppliers and thousands more.


Andrews Hayes Holiday Park

The Tuckers Arms is Just a 1.5 Mile walk or Short Car Drive from Visit Devon’s Gold Award Winning Holiday Park , Family Run by the Lawrence for over 60 years,  Generations of Andrews Hayes Customers have spent many an hour enjoying hospitality at the Tuckers Arms. In the last 5 years the park has undergone major refurbishment, still a home from home now also home to luxury eco cabins and the winners of a string of many well-deserved awards
